Renewable energy from Biogas

Biogas is a renewable and sustainable source of natural gas that is collected from domestic wastewater, agricultural waste, municipal solid waste and animal husbandry. Biogas is a type of renewable natural gas and is a mixture of different gases. Biogas is generally methane, but it may also be a mixture of methane, ethane, propane and butane. Biogas is a byproduct of the anaerobic process that is done by bacteria in the absence of oxygen. Biogas can also be produced by fermentation of food and other organic waste. Biogas can be used as a direct fuel to power a range of cooking and lighting appliances. Biogas can also be used for running generators to produce electricity.
